Been Doin' Lately

It’s been a while since my last post. I have been busier than the average joe, I think. I have several things going on that all center around my anticipated move to France, the real Capitol of Europe. The story behind my emigration is one for another time, but it’s a love story; about as romantic as they might come in this modern age. I truly believe I am one lucky devil, in more ways than I’m implying here, but I’ll spare you the sappy details for now. The real objective of this post is to keep in the habit of writing here, as well as keep you all up date in light of the fast-approaching bon voyage.

First of all, I’ve been working on getting all my necessary documents in order that I’ll need for the move. It should be noted that the documents one needs to relocate to another country depend on way too many things for me to go into here, nor would I even know what all they are, but for me, and for the purposes of marriage in Strasbourg, it has proven to not be too bad of an ordeal. I’ll post more on that later.

Second on my big to-do list, has been to get my business site in shape, Wion Design. I’ll be starting a new journal there that keeps design topics away from here, for the most part. Anyway, the business issue vectors into another zillion things I’ve been scrambling with, all of which may be topics for later posts. But I will say this, although the business angle was a rather last minute realization and objective, I am now quite excited about giving it a go.

Third, I’ve been desparately wrapping up loose ends at my current job, which I am leaving behind, along with my financial security. Scary indeed. Hopefully I can get that bull by the horns pretty quickly.

Fourth, I’ve been working on a couple of solo projects, which I can’t get into at this point, but they are being realized and it’s all very exciting. Along the same lines I have four new projects potentially in the wind.

Fifth, and nagging in the back of my mind, is my near need to deal with my personal belongings. Thankfully, I don’t have much. I’ve intentionally been keeping light the last five years just in case this emigration thing became a reality, and I’m glad I did. Nevertheless, I still have stuff to deal with and since my estimated time of departure is around mid August, I’m definitely under the gun in this respect to.

Well, that’s just the tip of the icecube. As you might imagine, there’s a lot going on within each of those areas. And this doesn’t even begin to account for what awaits me in France, but again, that’s a topic or two for later.
